I was trying to find a website housing teacher professional development video. I stumbled upon Teaching Channel. It has tons of videos of teachers working with students in their classrooms. The videos can be discovered by subject, grade, or content. I found "Content" to be the most helpful. Users can find videos about classroom management, collaboration, differentiation, engagement, etc. Teaching Channel is a fantastic resource.

Character Education

Edutopia posted an article about teaching students how to become innovators.  As a child, I often didn't push myself because of my fear of mistakes.  It's an issue we need to keep in mind as educators and parents.  How do we create a culture where our students feel comfortable enough to be creative and innovative.  Edutopia's article, "Nurturing the Innovator's Mindset in the Classroom,"lists and explains 5 attributes required for innovation.  They call them the Galileo's Innovator's Mindset:

Visionary

Courageous

Collaborative

Determined

Reflective

PBS Learning

PBS Learning is a fantastic website for students and teachers.  You can search for activities, videos, lessons, and games that are standards based in multiple content areas.  It's very easy to find lessons according to grade level and content area as well.

EdTech Vocabulary

Edudemic posted an article about EdTech Vocabulary.  It's titled:

Brush Up on Your EdTech Vocabluary with this Cheat Sheet

As you can imagine, it's a cheat sheet for all the new key phrases in emerging educational technology.  It's an extremely helpful visual aid.

Back To School Night

Heather Wolpert-Gawron posted an article to Edutopia about how to prepare for Back to School Night.  The post is titled:

This could be a great resource for new teachers, but as she said, it took her 15 years to come up with some of these strategies.  It's tough to remember exactly what you did for one night a year ago, so this checklist could be helpful for any teacher.  Anything you would add to this list?

I recently stumbled upon EdShelf.  It's a great way for educators, parents, and students to find educational websites, apps, programs, or products.  You can create a free account, view "collections" created by other educators/parents, and create your own "collections" of your favorite websites and tools.
